The Center for Climate and Sustainable Finance (CCSF) Universitas Indonesia, established in 2022 under the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), extends the decade-long climate and biodiversity expertise of its sister organizations within the Institute for Sustainable Earth and Resources (ISER UI). CCSF UI focuses on developing finance policies to address the climate and sustainability crisis in Indonesia.

We are seeking a program manager to lead and coordinate programs on energy transition and sustainable minerals. The program involves research and engagement activities related to transitioning from coal while advancing sustainable critical minerals in an economy that interacts with land-based sectors (mining, forestry, and plantation) in the tropics. Further, the activities include crafting sustainable finance pathways, particularly within sub-national planning and financing in Indonesia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities, including managing technical and administrative matters.
  • Plan and manage resource allocation and project deliverables.
  • Manage and project schedules and budgets in coordination with the CCSF UI team.
  • Supervise and support project staff and researchers, ensuring alignment with project objectives and deliverables.
  • Strengthen communication and coordination between project teams and relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead and participate in meetings and conferences with key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (S2) in a relevant field such as climate policy, development studies, energy studies, conservation biology, agriculture/forestry management, sustainability sciences or related disciplines.
  • Strong interest in interdisciplinary sustainability issues, particularly energy transition, sustainable minerals, and land-based economies.
  • Strong project management and coordination skills.
  • Prior experience (at least a full 1 year) managing projects and strong teamwork in organizations is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills, critical thinking, and a result-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken); public speaking skills are an advantage.
  • Able to travel, when required, to visit project partners in Indonesia (Pontianak and Palangka Raya) and attend UNFCCC COP31 (Antalya, Turkey).
